Level 3 Diploma in Team Leading and Supervision (RQF) 

This national recognised qualification is for learners who are in a first line management role. 

These roles can be in the private, public or voluntary sector and may include supervisors, team leaders, project officers, shift supervisors, forepersons and shift managers.

E-Learning and Assessment option includes basic support with online learning materials and assessment, with the learner fully in charge of their own timetable. 

The learner has access to online resources on our VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) for learning, and our e-Portfolio for assessments and assignments.

This qualification is aimed at individuals currently employed in team leader or supervisor roles. 

This includes those working in the following job roles:

Usual Responsibilities of the Team Leader/Supervisor

These responsibilities usually include:

  • building relationships


The Level 3 Diploma in Team Leading and Supervision (RQF) is the qualification that supports the delivery of the Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship standard and covers the knowledge, skills and behaviours contained within this standard.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 400 hours of learning of which 223 will be guided. 

We offer two length of study programmes: 

Standard duration lasting 12 months 

Fast duration to complete the qualification in 6 months.

Topics covered

The qualification covers the knowledge and skills learners need to lead or supervise a team, including the interpersonal, leadership and management skills required to succeed in a lower management position. The qualification topics include leading people, building relationships, project management and decision making.   

To achieve the Highfield Level 3 Diploma in Team Leading and Supervision (RQF), learners must complete all units contained within the mandatory group and these are:

Assessments

The learner has access to our e-Portfolio for assessments and assignments. 

Your trainer/assessor will assist you in producing a portfolio of evidence that provides evidence of your knowledge and performance. 

Assessments are flexible and involve a variety of assessment methods including: 

  • written questions, 
  • oral questioning, 
  • professional discussions, 
  • observation of work-based performance,  
  • work-based evidence, 
  • personal statements 
  • reflective accounts 
  • witness testimony, 
  • and more. 


Requirements for enrolment

Learners need to have access to a computer/laptop/tablet with internet access, to be able to use the e-Portfolio. 
Learners must live and work in England.

Learners need to be employed in a suitable management job role within the health and social care or children and young people’s sector. Those not in a management or supervisory role should move to such a job role in order to evidence their skills and competence.

This qualification is delivered in English. Learners must be able to read and write in English, in order to undertake this qualification.
