This Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care learning bundle provides 14 courses that deliver knowledge and understanding for working in any care setting within the health and social care sector. 

The Health and Social Care Level 2 Certificate learning bundle delivers at least 22 credits of learning and gives learners the opportunity to:
• develop knowledge related to working in an adult social care environment
• develop skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful
performance in working life
• learn about how to work with different types of individuals and organisations in the adult
social care environment
• prepare to progress to a nationally recognised level 2 qualification
• develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning
 

Health and Social Care Level 2 Certificate learning bundle is suitable for those wishing to change career or move into working in adult social care in England. Their aim is to introduce knowledge around the following 9 mandatory areas of working in adult social care: 

  1. communication 
  2. equality, diversity and inclusion 
  3. personal development 
  4. role of the social care worker 
  5. handling information 
  6. health and safety 
  7. safeguarding 
  8. duty of care 
  9. person-centred approaches. 


These nine courses are aligned to the learning content of the Ofqual-recognised qualification, the Highfield Level 2 Certificate in Preparing Adults to Work in Adult Social Care (RQF) on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Progression  

On completing the courses, learners in the England can progress to the following Ofqual-recognised qualifications, such as: 

Highfield Level 2 Certificate in preparing to work in adult social care (RQF) 

Highfield Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF) 

Highfield Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to work in adult social care (RQF) 

 

Reminder of Sizes of qualification in the RQF:

Award, Certificate, Diploma

There are three sizes of qualification in the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) 

Award 
Awards are qualifications that have between 1 and 12 credits. The Total Qualification Time (TQT) for an Award RQF has a value of 120 hours or less.  

Certificate 
Any RQF Qualification named Certificate is between 13 to 36 credits in size. 
Such a qualification has a TQT value in the range of 121–369 hours.    

Diploma 
Any RQF Qualification named Diploma has 37 credits or above in size. 
Such a qualification has a TQT value in the range of 121–369 hours
(37 credits and above), a qualification with a TQT value of 370 hours or more. 

Bundles aligned to content of qualifications enable learners to access their own self-directed learning and development.
